MESSAGE TO THE 19TH CONGRESS OF THE CPSUB, 1952 by Samuel Mikunis, Israel Communist Party
Dear comrades! On behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Israel, our delegation is happy to welcome the world-historical 19th Congress of the great heroic party of Lenin-Stalin. (Stormy, prolonged applause).
The Central Committee, our entire party, the masses of the working people of our country—Jews and Arabs, send you their warm fraternal greetings and best wishes for further great victories in the construction of communism; send their sincere feelings of ardent love and devotion to the great, beloved leader and teacher, the brilliant architect of the new world—Comrade Stalin! (Stormy applause).
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for the high honour of being guests of this historic congress, which outlines grandiose plans for peaceful communist construction and the further rise of the material and cultural position of the Soviet people.
Against this bright background, the criminal policy of war and poverty pursued by the US imperialist bosses and their lackeys in other capitalist countries emerges with even greater force.
The difficult financial situation of the working people of Israel, the trampling of the democratic rights of the people and the especially difficult situation of the Arab population, suffering from a brutal policy of national discrimination, are a direct consequence of precisely this anti-people, pro-American policy pursued by the Ben-Gurion government.
By turning Israel into an American fiefdom, creating conditions for American monopolists to freely dominate the country’s economy, supporting the unconditionally criminal plans of the imperialist warmongers to create an aggressive Middle Eastern anti-Soviet bloc, pursuing an anti-national policy of cooperation with the neo-Nazi rulers of West Germany, the Ben-Gurion government led Israel to the brink of the abyss .
The people of Israel, a significant part of which signed the appeal for the conclusion of a Peace Pact between the five great powers and against the remilitarisation of Germany, do not agree to the transformation of our country into an American military base. Our people do not believe the vile propaganda of the government of Ben-Gurion and all other American mercenaries about the allegedly aggressive intentions of the Soviet Union. The people of Israel are aware that the imperialist warmongers threaten Israel as well as other countries. The peoples of Israel have not forgotten and will never forget that the heroic Soviet Army saved the peoples of the world from fascist slavery, saved millions of Jews from the bloody claws of Hitler’s robbers, that the Soviet Government, pursuing a principled Leninist-Stalinist policy on the national issue, has always supported and continues to support the struggle of the masses of Israel for its national independence. The people of Israel will never be in the same camp with Hitler’s bloody executioners of Majdanek and Auschwitz.
Dear comrades! The Communist Party of Israel leads the struggle of the masses of our country—Jews and Arabs—for peace and national independence, for bread and freedom, against the policy of national discrimination against the Arab population, for friendship and cooperation with the peoples of the Middle East. Our party calls on the working class for unity of action, calls on the working people to fight for a people’s, democratic Israel, for eternal friendship with the Soviet Union.
The Communist Party of Israel is able to lead this patriotic struggle because it is guided by the brilliant and invincible teaching of Marx-Engels-Lenin-Stalin, because it is hostile to bourgeois nationalism and faithful to proletarian internationalism; because our guiding star is the enormous historical experience of the glorious vanguard of the international communist movement—the heroic party of Lenin-Stalin! (Stormy applause).
Dear comrades! The historic 19th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union reveals new bright paths and prospects for us. The decisions of the 19th Congress, the great works of genius of Comrade Stalin will serve us as a powerful ideological stimulus and an inexhaustible source of strength in the struggle of the people of Israel for the cause of peace and national independence, for the complete victory of our people over their overseas stranglers and their Israeli lackeys.
We will fight, realising that we are already at the end of the dark and damned night of capitalism, that the bright sun of the great Stalin rises high above the world, illuminating the path of the peoples of the whole earth to a bright communist future.
Long live the great party of Lenin-Stalin! (Stormy applause).
Long live the heroic Soviet people! (Applause).
May our dear and beloved leader and teacher Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin live and live for many, many years to come! (Stormy, long-lasting applause. Everyone stands up).
